The Top 12 Reasons for People Taking Supplements:

The Harvard Research Program conducted a telephone survey to ascertain why people took them. They published their findings online on November 19, 2012 in the journal Archives of Internal Medicine.

The telephone survey, which was conducted in English and Spanish, comprised 1,570 individuals who were contacted between August 11 and September 7, 2011; the respondents were a nationally representative sample that was weighted according to US Census data to reflect the demographic makeup of the adult population.

Reasons given for taking supplements:
1. To feel better: 41%
2. To improve overall energy level: 40.85
3. To boost immune system: 35.9%
4. To treat digestive issues: 28.4%
5. To reduce the risk of heart disease: 27.8%
6. To relieve pain: 25.5%
7. To improve mental function: 25.0%
8. To help sleep: 24.4%
9. To get a quick energy boost or stay awake: 23.7%
10. To lower cholesterol: 20.6%
11. To help with weight control: 20.2%
12. To reduce risk or prevent cancer: 18.8%

Is it not really wonderful to know that One For All Enzyme Capsules actually help with all of these issues?

One For All Enzyme Capsules work in the following way (and we have the testimonials on our Webpage to prove it!)

  1. To feel better: Co-Enzyme Q10 acts in conjunction with other enzymes to speed up the metabolic processes, providing energy that the cells need to digest food, heal wounds, and maintain overall bodily health.
  2. To improve overall energy level: Co-Enzyme Q10 is a vitamin-like chemical that is found in practically all the cells in our body, especially the heart. It shows antioxidant properties and the body uses it the generate ATP, a storage form of energy.
  3. To boost immune system: The N- Acetyl Cysteine Plays important role in activity of white blood cells, which fight disease. Vitamin E supplementation helps to improve the immune function of the elderly and helps to combat the harmful effects of cigarette smoke and other pollutants.
  1. To treat Digestive issues: Amylase is the digestive enzyme needed to digest carbohydrates. Cellulase is an enzyme which breaks down cellulose to beta-glucose and is used as a digestive aid and for the management of flatulence. Lactase is naturally present in the human intestine. When consuming dairy, most people in the world cannot convert all lactose present, due to insufficient lactase activity. Protease helps to digest protein, in other words meat, fish, eggs, poultry, legumes, nuts and seeds. Dandelion increases the production and flow of bile from the liver and gallbladder, thus helping to treat gallstones, hepatitis and jaundice. Chromium Picolinate is involved in the metabolism of glucose. Lipase may be particularly helpful in cases of Cystic Fibrosis, Crohn’s Disease, and Celiac disease (intolerance to gluten). Dandelion increases the production and flow of bile from the liver and gallbladder, thus helping to treat gallstones, hepatitis and jaundice.
  2. To reduce the risk of heart disease: Co-enzymes has been shown to be especially helpful in preventing heart disease and congestive heart failure.According to the Reader’s Digest book: “The Healing Power of Vitamins, Minerals and Herbs” a major study in Italy of more than 2500 patients with congestive heart failure, 80% showed improvement when a daily dose of 100mg Co-Enzyme Q10 was added to their other treatment. Dandelion has high potassium content and replaces potassium lost in normal urine secretion, leading to a net gain in potassium level.

6. To Relieve Pain: Vitamin Eis a powerful antioxidant required for tissue growth and repair. N- Acetyl Cysteine helps to treat rheumatoid arthritis.

  1. To improve mental function: Research studies suggest that low levels of Co-Enzyme Q10are found in people with Parkinson’s disease. N-Acetyl Cysteine helps to protect the brain and liver from damage due to alcohol, drugs and toxic compounds found in cigarette smoke and has a strong anti-aging effect. There is evidence available that Vitamin E supplementation helps to improve the immune function of the elderly and helps to combat the harmful effects of cigarette smoke and other pollutants. Vitamin E has also been shown to postpone the development of cataracts and has shown to slow the progression of Alzheimer’s disease as well as Parkinson’s disease.
  1. To help sleep: Common conditions often associated with sleep problems include heartburn, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, musculoskeletal disorders, kidney disease, mental health problems, neurological disorders, respiratory problems, and thyroid disease.Literally all of the above applies here.

 9. To get a quick energy boost or stay awake: Co-Enzyme Q 10 is a vitamin-like chemical that is found in practically all the cells in our body, especially the heart. It shows antioxidant properties and the body uses it the generate ATP, a storage form of energy.

10.To lower cholesterol: Co-Enzyme Q10 can be especially complimentary to conventional medical treatments for heart and blood related diseases. Chromium Picolinate is vital for the synthesis of cholesterol, fats and protein. Dandelion will reduce serum cholesterol levels.

  1. To help with weight control: Chromium Picolinate promotes loss of fat and increases lean muscle tissue an also maintains stable blood sugar levels through proper insulin utilization thus helpful for people with diabetes and hypoglycemia.
  1. To reduce risk or prevent cancer: Research studies suggest that low levels of Co-Enzyme Q10 are found in people with cancer. Vitamin E protects against the harmful effects of pollution and helps to prevent cancer and infections as well as heart disease.

N-Acetyl Cysteine helps to treat cancer. According to The Reader’s Digest book: “The Healing Power of Vitamins, Minerals and Herbs” a study of thousands of smokers has shown that supplemental Vitamin E reduced the risk of Prostate Cancer in Smokers by 33% and the death rate of Prostate Cancer by 41%.

Pancreatic Cancer and Enzymes

Once you are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer it is largely believed to be fatal and that there is no hope. Even chemotherapy and radiation, although recommended, are experimental and do not really present a great track record as far as life expectancy is concerned.

But what is Cancer? Our bodies tries to replace millions of cells each day (just think how your body is capable of healing itself when you are wounded or how your hair and nails grow each day). The human body tries to make a brand new perfect cell in place of the one that dies off, but sometimes mistakenly multiplies in a unregulated manner. In this case a tumor may develop. This tumor could stay benign and cause no symptoms or problems, but it can become malignant and cause cancer.

I try to explain the issue like this: When you are health conscious and eat raw, organic, unprocessed foods, exercise and drink enough pure water, your body will probably be quite capable of removing the dead cells and fighting enemies like viruses and bacteria and even tumors. However, if you smoke, drink lots of sugary, highly acidic cold drinks and are a couch potato, your body will probably be too busy removing the chemicals and poisons that you are “uploading” daily and have no time to heal itself. Simple. Yet, not quite so simple as we live in a highly poisoned environment already, and yes toxic waste is everywhere, in our water, air and vegetables! You cannot hide from absolutely everything, but you can certainly make the load your body has to carry a bit lighter.

Most of us ignore the “light” symptoms like itchy skin, dark urine, poor appetite, pale stools, slight nausea and fatigue and usually “take a pill” for the more irritating symptoms like blood sugar problems, constipation, diarrhea, rapid heartbeat and ulcers…

The truth is that a completely different pill consisting of digestive enzymes and Co-enzyme Q10 could really make a difference if your habits are less than healthy. Also, even a already health conscious person can benefit. In his book: Enzyme Nutrition, The Food Enzyme Concept by Dr. Edward Howell writes: “When we eat cooked, enzyme-free food, the body is forced to produce enzymes needed for digestion. This “stealing” of enzymes from other parts of the body sets up a competition for enzymes among the various organ systems and tissues of the body. The resulting metabolic dislocations may be the direct cause of cancer, coronary heart disease, diabetes and many chronic incurable diseases”.

Dr. Howell also explains: “When a person fasts, there is an immediate halt to the production of digestive enzymes. The body’s enzymes are free to work on repairing and removing diseased tissues. Civilized people eat such large quantities of cooked food, the body lacks the enzymes needed to maintain good health. Most people who fast go through a healing crisis. Nausea, vomiting, dizziness may result, caused by enzymes attacking pathological tissue discarded through elimination”. Thus Banters getting some fantastic results with fasting.

Dr Howell also knew that most people are unwilling to change their diet to raw food and found that digestive enzymes (in fact the same type used in One For All Enzyme Capsules) taken with meals are effective to help the body heal itself.

In my humble opinion, it is worth a try! Take the enzymes, help your body to rid itself of dead cells. Help your body to prevent disease and try to stay focused on positive thoughts and happy things. You might just surprise yourself and your doctor with the results…

Why is One For All on the Banting Wagon?

The answer is quite simple: I have always been pro-eating clean and pro-cutting grains and sugar out of one’s diet. Maybe not necessarily adding so much fat, but I have never said “eat low fat”.

Myself, I really do not like to eat large portions of fat, cream, or anything that resembles it, but I have certainly never NOT eaten it. My friends used to always comment on the large portions of butter some people add to their bread, and I always told them that the butter is not the problem, it is the bread…and oh my word, do not get me started on the Margarine! If a restaurant only serves those horrible single servings of Margarine, I vowed to never go back to them.

The thing is, people, in general do not realize where the problems are with food these days. Have you ever noticed that a so called “healthier” snack like a famous “oats” bar contains more sugar and hydrogenated vegetable fat (Margarine) than a Bar One Chocolate?

My stomach used to give me hell when I ate bread and pasta, so I stopped eating it many moons ago. My weight dropped and stabilized, although I was never obese (BMI always below 25). Other health issues went away too, so I do not HAVE to Bant as such, but I certainly still, do not eat bread and sugar as part of my daily lifestyle…

What do you however recommend to someone like me? I LOVE to bake! I think I should have become a pastry chef. I always wanted my own restaurant. Banting baking is not fun, most of it is truly horrible in taste and none of it even remotely resembles proper baked goods like the pastry chef in me can do. I suppose I just have to live with it. Bake cakes only for special occasions like I currently do.

But Why One For All then?

One For All is a supplement that can be used by All. It is full of digestive enzymes, so when you do cheat and have that awesome piece of proper chocolate cake (Baked with real eggs and real chocolate and real butter!!) at least One For All is there to help your colon cope. The other ingredients in One For All will help you to deal with the sugar (the Chromium), the Acetyl Cysteine and Dandelion will help your liver cope with the excess glucose and to put the cherry on top: The Co-Enzyme Q10 will help rebuild where there is any damage.

What more do you need? Nothing; but if you do eat better, healthier and Bant already, One For All can still help you reverse years of damage caused by your previously unhealthy lifestyle, it can even help you with those carb flu symptoms cramps and gallstones! One For All Enzyme Capsules

Ingredients of One For All

 Packshot with Capsules around small

Digezyme consisting of:

Amylase

  • Amylase is the digestive enzyme needed to digest carbohydrates.
  • Amylase digests not only carbohydrates but also dead white blood cells (pus). For example, when you are low in amylase you are a candidate for abscesses (inflamed areas with pus but not bacteria).
  • Amylase is involved in anti-inflammatory reactions such as those caused by the release of histamine and similar substances. The inflammatory response usually occurs in organs which are in contact with the outside world, i.e., the lungs and skin. These include skin problems such as psoriasis, eczema, hives, insect bites, allergic bee and bug stings, a-topic dermatitis, and all types of herpes. Some lung problems including asthma and emphysema may require amylase plus other enzyme formulas depending on the particular condition.

Cellulase

  • Cellulase is an enzyme which breaks down cellulose to beta-glucose and is used as a digestive aid and for the management of flatulence.
  • Cellulase is an enzyme that breaks down cellulose, the carbohydrate that is the main part of the cell walls of plants. Cellulose is non-digestible by humans because we to not produce the enzyme cellulase. In the human body cellulase is available for supplementation since it can help break down plant material better, thereby absorbing more of the vitamins in the food.

Lactase

  • Lactase is an enzyme that converts lactose into glucose and galactose.
  • Lactase is naturally present in the human intestine. When consuming dairy, most people in the world cannot convert all lactose present, due to insufficient lactase activity.

Lipase

  • Lipase is an enzyme that the body uses to break down fats in food so they can be absorbed in the intestines. Lipase is primarily produced in the pancreas but is also in the mouth and stomach.
  • Lipase may be particularly helpful in cases of Cystic Fibrosis, Crohn’s Disease, and Celiac disease (intolerance to gluten).

Protease

  • Protease helps to digest protein, in other words meat, fish, eggs, poultry, legumes, nuts and seeds.

Enzyme caution

In theory, too much enzyme activity could be irritating because it could start to “digest” parts of the body as the enzymes travel through the digestive system. Fortunately, that does not happen with supplemental amounts. Research has not determined the level at which such problems might arise.

Co- Enzyme Q10

Co-enzyme Q10 is a natural substance produced by the body and belongs to a family of compounds named quinines. It was first named ubiquinone because of its ubiquitous or omnipresence nature. Co-enzyme Q10 is found in all living creatures and is concentrated in many foods like nuts and fish.

  • It is vitamin-like chemical that is found in practically all the cells in our body, especially the heart. It shows antioxidant properties and the body uses it the generate ATP, a storage form of energy.
  • Research studies suggest that low levels of Co Q10 are found in people with heart disease, Parkinson’s disease, cancer, diabetes, muscular dystrophy and HIV/AIDS.
  • Low levels of coenzyme Q10 might interfere with the energy production pathway in our body.
  • Co-enzyme Q10 is a catalyst for metabolism, which in other words is a catalyst for the chemical reactions where food is broken down into energy that the body can use.
  • Co-enzyme Q10 acts in conjunction with other enzymes to speed up the metabolic processes, providing energy that the cells need to digest food, heal wounds, and maintain overall bodily health.
  • Because of Co-enzyme Q10’s essential role in energy production it is found in large amounts in the heart, and acts as a strong anti-oxidant that helps to neutralize cell damaging free radicals.
  • One For All contains Co-enzyme Q10 to help prevent cancer and heart attacks as well as other diseases linked to free radical damage.
  • Levels of Co-enzyme Q10 diminish with age and certain diseases and has therefore been added in the ingredients of One For All to be especially helpful from the age of 40 onwards.
  • Co-enzyme has been shown to be especially helpful in preventing heart disease and congestive heart failure. Further research has also suggested that co-enzyme Q10 will help prevent blood clots and can help to lower high blood pressure and relieve angina or chest pains.
  • Co-enzyme Q10 can be especially complimentary to conventional medical treatments for heart and blood related diseases.

According to the Reader’s Digest  book: “The Healing Power of Vitamins, Minerals and Herbs” a major study in Italy of more than 2500 patients with congestive heart failure, 80% showed improvement when a daily dose of 100mg Co-Enzyme Q10 was added to their other treatment. The patients had better colour, less edema and less shortness of breath and began to sleep better after taking Co-Enzyme Q10 for 3 months.

Co- Enzyme Q10 Cautions

  • Co Q10 has very little side effects. Most are mild and disappears with stopping this supplement or lowering the dose.
  • Possible very rare side effects of taking this supplement include heartburn, nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite, skin rash, insomnia, headache, fatigue, irritability and flu-like symptoms.
  • Co Q10 may lower blood pressure. Monitor your blood pressure when starting or stopping this supplement.

N- Acetyl Cysteine

  • Helps to detoxify harmful toxins and protect the body from radiation damage
  • Free Radical destroyer
  • Precursor to glutathione that detoxifies the liver by binding with harmful substances
  • Helps to protect the brain and liver from damage due to alcohol, drugs and toxic compounds found in cigarette smoke
  • Helps to treat rheumatoid arthritis, atherosclerosis, and cancer
  • Promotes healing after surgery and severe burns, chelates heavy metals
  • Aids in iron absorption
  • Promotes burning of fat and building of muscle
  • Breaks down mucus in the respiratory tract and is therefore helpful in the treatment of bronchitis, emphysema and tuberculosis
  • Plays important role in activity of white blood cells, which fight disease
  • Anti- aging effect

N-Acetyl Cysteine Safety

NAC is considered safe for consumption in its therapeutic dosage ranges. Individual reactions may vary and anyone experiencing adverse symptoms while taking N-Acetyl Cysteine should discontinue it.

Chromium Picolinate

  • Involved in the metabolism of glucose
  • Vital for the synthesis of cholesterol, fats and protein
  • Maintains stable blood sugar levels through proper insulin utilization thus helpful for people with diabetes and hypoglycemia
  • Used to control cholesterol levels
  • Promotes loss of fat and increases lean muscle tissue
  • Fights osteoporosis

Chromium Picolinate Cautions

Chromium picolinate can affect insulin requirements in diabetic people, so blood sugar levels should be monitored very carefully.

If one experiences lightheadedness or fatigue, consult health care provider.

Vitamin E

  • Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant required for tissue growth and repair.
  • Vitamin E protects against the harmful effects of pollution and helps to prevent cancer and infections as well as heart disease.
  • Vitamin E may reduce cholesterol levels and high blood pressure and prevent atherosclerosis because of its basic function that is to protect cell membranes.
  • Vitamin E acts as a powerful antioxidant by neutralizing free radicals in the body that cause tissue and cellular damage and will help to prevent strokes.
  • Vitamin E also contributes to a healthy circulatory system and aids in proper blood clotting and therefore helps to improve wound healing.
  • There is evidence available that Vitamin E supplementation helps to improve the immune function of the elderly and helps to combat the harmful effects of cigarette smoke and other pollutants. Vitamin E has also been shown to postpone the development of cataracts and has shown to slow the progression of Alzheimer’s disease as well as Parkinson’s disease.
  • Research has also shown that Vitamin E can relieve severe leg pain caused by poor blood circulation and may also alleviate breast pain and tenderness in regard to PMS. (Pre Menstrual Syndrome).

Dandelion

  • The dandelion is approved for dyspeptic, liver and gallbladder complaints, infections of the urinary tract, and loss of appetite.
  • Other unproven uses include treatment of disturbances in bile flow, inflammation of the efferent urinary tract, dyspepsia hemorrhoids, congestion in the portal system, gout, rheumatic disorders, eczema and other skin disorders.
  • The dandelion is considered to be a very safe diuretic with the ability to increase water and waste products in the urine.
  • Dandelion has a high potassium content and replaces potassium lost in normal urine secretion, leading to a net gain in potassium level.
  • Dandelions are also thought to be effective in helping to ease the ailments of many other conditions including herpes, genital warts, and even obesity. Studies on both rats and humans that involved injecting them with dandelion have resulted in them losing up to 30% of their body weight.
  • Dandelion increases the production and flow of bile from the liver and gallbladder, thus helping to treat gallstones, hepatitis and jaundice.
  • Dandelion improves liver function and may therfore help to relive the pain associated with endometriosis. Dandelion also helps to remove excess oestrogen from the body and will help to restore the balance of the female hormones.
  • Dandelion has no serious side-effects. Only in extreme dosages and upset stomach or diarrhoea may result.
  • Dandelion will help to cleanse the bloodstream and liver and can be used as a diuretic. Dandelion will reduce serum cholesterol levels and may improve the functioning of the kidneys, panceas, spleen and stomach.

We are all human

“If at first you don’t succeed, cheat!”

Yes, we first and foremost agree with the health fundies, you should be eating healthy, exercise, drink pure water and get plenty of beauty sleep. But what if life just happened?

You get invited to that wonderful event, and there are pastries, chocolate cake and champagne, potato fries and crunchy, oily chicken and shrimp snacks… To top it all, you used to be a smoker and you get offered a cigar! Midnight calls for fireworks and that lovely cocktail or EXTRA beer, as if you didn’t have too many already…

Do you fall? Do you fall so hard that your head hurts the next morning? Don’t think you are alone, you are just a bit human sometimes. You may forgive yourself. It is not the end of the world. Just fix it!

Fix it? How? It is real simple:

One For All contains Dandelion and Acetyl Cysteine, which will both help to detoxify your liver. It also contains Chromium to help sort out your pancreas that you overloaded with sugar. And most of all, the digestive enzymes and Co-Enzyme Q10 is a winning recipe to help your stomach, colon and blood purify and cleanse itself. Yes, your body is perfectly capable of doing all this on its own, but why won’t you want to help out a bit and make it easier? Imagine it like washing dishes. You will probably be able to clean the dishes just fine with cold water, but warm water and dish washing liquid makes the task so much easier and faster, not to mention better!

Do you need good bacteria?

I just read an article that said the overgrowth of bad bacteria in the small intestine leads to:

Gas, Bloating, Diarrhea, Constipation, abdominal pain or cramping
Irritable bowel syndrome or inflammatory bowel disease
Food intolerance such as gluten or dairy
Chronic illnesses such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, diabetes, neuromuscular disorders and autoimmune disorders
Vitamin and mineral deficiency
Fat malabsorption & Obesity

Not that it is new information, it is just that the average person does not realize, that it is quite easy to fix the problem.

Eat less gluten and junk foods and sugar and drink your One For All daily with meals. The digestive enzymes together with the Co-Enzyme Q10 in One For All will help the intestines to heal and the liver and pancreas will also get all the help they need from the Dandelion and Acetyl Cysteine in One For All.

Weight Obsession VS Health

As I am reading another Facebook post about someone on a zero Carb diet, (Only meat and water), and the person is not any lighter or smaller after 100 days, I have to ask questions:

  • Is this person being totally honest about what they are consuming?
  • Is he/she using any Medications or Drugs?
  • Is he/she a smoker?
  • Is he/she drinking enough water?
  • Is there a medical condition, for example colon disease, present?

Why is it that all of a sudden, since a few famous scientists or medical professionals have started a “Banting Revolution”, many of the religious Banters or Ketogenic Dieters or Zero Carbers or whatever you want to be named, have such a “problem” with asking for professional help?

Many Natural Therapists and Nutritionists and even some Medical Doctors have long ago (long before the RMR) started realizing that grains and sugar is definitely an enemy, but also preservatives, GMO’s and other chemicals.

The point I am trying to make is rather this: When one has a problem with your health or weight for that matter, it is not such a bad idea to get some help, maybe even from herbs or detoxing therapies like colonic irrigation and lymphatic drainage.

I for one, would much rather get rid of my disease or problem faster, in order to stay positive about my dietary changes, especially if you used to be very fond of those “naughty” foods. Being on a completely different diet for 100 days without reaping some real benefit or seeing any real change, might devastate me…

ADHD

Yes your ADHD child will definitely benefit from Banting. It is that simple. Blood sugar that is constant, has a more constant effect on mood. And removing toxic colorants, preservatives and chemicals from his or her diet is not only healthy, but is most important. You should do a little study of your own and see how obviously a child misbehaves after ingesting red or blue cold drinks for example. It is quite astonishing. And in case you are wondering if a child needs extra carbohydrates, well, not really, but if you are that worried, just make sure they eat a good range of vegetables, like pumpkin and you will have to worry no more!.

ADHD is mostly triggered by chemicals and for this reason, the best thing for your child would be to remove all chemicals from his or her diet. You will have to start reading labels before you buy food off your favorite supermarket shelf.

Look out especially for Monosodium Glutamate MSG, added to savory foods like potato chips, packets of soup powders spice mixes, salty snacks and sauces.

In fact, it would be best to avoid buying ready made meals and packaged food altogether.

Focus on deciding for the meal:

  1. Which protein is your main ingredient? Meat, fish, eggs, poultry, nuts or seeds? Portion size should be the size of your hand palm or rather the size of the child’s palm. Avoid hot dog viennas and other cold meats that may contain MSG. Some companies don’t use MSG in their food anymore.
  2. Add two or three vegetables to this. The portions could be between a quarter to a half cupful, depending on the size appropriate for the child. Even if it is a school lunch, pack cold chicken strips, raw carrot sticks, sugar snap peas and slices of cucumber for example. Packets of raw nuts and seeds, make your own trail mix, with no added sugar. Biltong can be great snacking food, just make sure they didn’t use spices with MSG. Portions of cheese are also fine.
  3. Strawberries and other berries like dried cranberries or even a few dates can be kept around for sweets.
  4. Absolutely no fizzy, energy or any other cold drinks, not even juice. Rather make water taste interesting by adding slices of lemon or orange and maybe even a few mint leaves and cucumber slices.
  5. Definitely add a flaxseed oil supplement to his or her diet and use plenty coconut oil to cook eggs and meat with.

Low-Carb Honey Cheesecake

I don’t particularly like Xylitol. My stomach doesn’t really appreciate it and lets face it, it is usually made in laboratories and one is not always sure of the quality. For this reason, I prefer using honey in baking, off course raw, organic honey is the best, just like the cream cheese would be best if it is organic and if the milk was from free roaming cows. If one is able to get raw milk from a farmer next door, how lucky are you!? Honey is probably also cheaper than Xylitol.

Here is my recipe for a very tasty, easy cheesecake, which your non-banting friends will like too. I don’t use extra amounts of fat and even buy low fat cream cheese (just because it is easier to get hold of), but for this reason, the non-banters will benefit from lower carbs without adding extra fat to their diets.

What do you tell someone who does not NEED to Bant?

Yesterday I went shopping at the local supermarket and ended up in the queue behind a lady, who is probably about 45 years old. She clearly went for a mid monthly shopping to have enough stock for a few weeks. She looked great, was well dressed, not overweight, skin looked pretty good for her age, even her hair was beautiful and shiny.

She had 3 boxes of nasty breakfast cereals, 6 long life litres of low fat milk, a bottle of sugar laden chutney, a 2kg bag of sugar, and many more other Non-Banting foods in her trolley.

I was just wondering to myself: “What does one tell someone like her?”

She probably has no reason at all to want to change her lifestyle. Maybe her husband does not have high blood pressure or heartburn. Maybe her children do not have to take ADD or Sinusitis Medications. Maybe she never gets headaches and PMS herself? I just won’t know until I start questioning her would I?

I remember so many times in my office as Natural Health Practitioner that for example a man would bring his wife because she has a huge arthritis problem…and then he would say to me: “O no, I am very healthy, I never even get the flu!” Only for me to find out an hour later that he had a heart attack a few years ago and is on blood pressure medication since then…

People are unfortunately quite ignorant when it comes to their health. How does one change that unless they have a health “scare” and have to suffer the heart attach or cancer diagnosis first, before they change their lifestyle?
